Community East hosted a hardhat tour of their new facility currently being built and scheduled to open February 2019. The tour was led by Suzanne Koehler, VP and COO and was interesting and informative.
EWHC was able to provide Christmas Help to three Indianapolis families this season. We provided gifts and clothing to a total of ten children, and grocery gift cards to all three families. Gifts were wrapped at our Gift Wrapping Party held Wednesday, December 20th at Northwest Radiology, and were distributed to the families on Thursday, December 21st. All of the families were very appreciative and thankful.
Thank you to all who purchased gifts for the children and to all who donated funds toward the gift cards. Thank you to Northwest Radiology for hosting the Gift Wrapping Party, especially to Karen Elliot who stayed late to accommodate us. Thanks also to Hall Render for sponsoring the Holiday Party.

We had a lot of great ideas generated at the retreat, focusing on where we want EWHC to be by the end of 2019. Some lofty goals were set and we embrace the challenge!
Thanks to all for a great Awards Celebration held at the Renaissance North on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. Congratulations to our award recipients, Julie Schnieders of St. Vincent Carmel Women's Center, Seema Verma of SVC, Inc. and Katie Miller of Hall Render Killian Heath & Lyman.
Thanks also to our emcee, Larra Overton of Fox59, and to Dr. Allison Barber of WGU Indiana, our Keynote Speaker who shared valuable leadership lessons learned from the events of 9/11 when she was working at the Pentagon.
We were also happy to have with us Jane-Claire Turner, our 2017 Lynne O'Day Scholarship Recipient who attended with her proud mom and dad. We hope that Jane-Claire always feels supported and uplifted by her colleagues throughout her career in healthcare.
What a fun evening and a great cause! To quote our most recent scholarship recipient, Ashley Johnson of Marian University,
"The EWHC Scholarship helped tremendously! Marian is an excellent school and the scholarship helped me by allowing me to work less and focus on my studies more so that I am able to maintain excellent grades. I have been honored and privileged to receive that scholarship from such an incredible organization."
Thank you to our event sponsor:

October 9th, EWHC's members and their guests heard from Dr. Craig Wilson of Suburban Health Organization. He spoke in depth about what Suburban Health is doing to come into compliance with the Affordable Care Act, and how the Affordable Care Act has provided them the avenue to provide a better service, while keeping prices affordable, and access plentiful.
